STEC “Ranks the First” among Shanghai Enterprise Groups in terms of Number of Winning Awards by means of Winning 14 Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Awards

On April 18, Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government held Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Award Conference in Shanghai Exhibition Center. STEC won 14 city-level science and technology awards in total, including 11 awards for scientific and technological advancement (1 first prize, 5 second prizes and 5 third prizes) and 3 awards for scientific and technological inventions (2 second prizes and 1 third prizes). Its number of winning awards ranked the first among Shanghai Enterprise Groups.

Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Award, initiated by Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, mainly rewards original innovation of the scientific discoveries and technological inventions, significant scientific and technological achievements promoting transformation of the economic development mode, cultivating strategic industries, promoting city safety and ecological development and impelling districts’ and counties’ innovation ability and economic development, and commends the scientific and technological workers making outstanding contributions to Shanghai Municipal scientific and technological causes.

For 14 awards won by STEC, Ground Pass Shield Tunneling New Technology and Engineering Demonstration researched led by STEC won the First Prize of Shanghai Municipal Scientific and Technological Advancement Award; Key Technologies and Demonstration Application of Long-span Prestressed Concrete Fin-back Beam Bridge, Innovation and Application of Key Technologies of Construction of Ten Million People Water Delivery Tunnel Engineering, Double Control Technology of Super Deep Foundation Pit Engineering Safety and Environmental Safety of Construction Expansion Type Rail Transit Junction Station etc. won the Second Prize of Shanghai Municipal Scientific and Technological Advancement Award; Key Technologies Research and Application Demonstration of Coordinated Management and Control of Low-carbon Smart Traffic in Urban Area, Key Technologies and Application of Recycled Concrete Fabricated Building Structure and Innovation of Key Technologies of Underground Diaphragm Wall etc. won the Third Prize of Shanghai Municipal Scientific and Technological Advancement Award. Ultra-large Diameter High-precision Reinforced Concrete Pipe-jacking Research, Development and Application, and Key Technologies and Application of Rainwater Storage Treatment and Utilization of Sponge Cities etc. , which were researched led by STEC, respectively won the Second Prize and Third Prize of Shanghai Municipal Technological Invention Award.

In 2015, aiming at building the “comprehensive service provider for construction and operation of urban infrastructures”, taking the opportunity of building the scientific and technological innovation center with the global influence in Shanghai and reform of state-owned enterprises, focusing on “new technologies, new industries, new modes and new industrial trends”, STEC innovated and explored the scientific and technological strategy and system suitable for the Group’s future development, mainly reflected as “gathering” and “releasing”. “Gathering’ means integrating the internationally most excellent innovation resources by more open pattern and market-oriented vision so as to form an open type substantialized technological innovation platform integrating “technological research and development”, “achievements incubation” and “popularization and transformation”. “Releasing” means subsiding the main part, promoting the researched and developed main part to face the market and the lines of the industrial chain, creating the market service-oriented operation system, improving the productivity of grass roots so as to create more economic value.
