On September 5, Zhang Yan, secretary of CPC STEC Party Committee and chairman of the board, gave a warm welcome to the group led by Lin Ruinian, assistant director of Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), and made an in-depth exchange of opinions on STEC’s development in Singapore and the future cooperation between the two sides. The head of Shanghai Office of EDB and related persons in charge of STEC SUCG International Engineering Co., Ltd. were present at the discussion. And on the day before, STEC SUCG International Engineering Co., Ltd., for remarkable project management capability and Singapore Metro Tangshen Line T225 project undertaken by it, won four prizes, the highest honor for Singaporean contractors, namely, Contractor Challenge Shield Award, Safety Excellence Award, Environment Excellence Award and Best Theme Deduction Award.
At the meeting, Chairman Zhang Yan said he felt greatly honored to contribute to the Singapore’s urban construction, and especially to rail transit development. Nearly 20 years have passed since STEC entered Singapore in 1990s. The localized staff members of the company have exceeded 90 percent of the total, and the projects undertaken by it have won national security award and environmental protection award of Singapore on several occasions. Many excellent local management ideas and systems have inspired STEC and have been gradually introduced and applied to the management of its overseas and domestic projects. For STEC, Singapore is the base of its overseas markets. As a comprehensive service provider of urban infrastructure construction and operation, apart from construction, we have rich experiences and advanced technologies in infrastructure investment, design, operation, management as well as in construction of smart cities. We can provide data collection services for employers to support follow-up operation and management while building tunnels and bridges. In the future, we hope to get support and trust as always from each government agency of Singapore, to contribute more to the construction and development of the country.
Assistant director Lin Ruinian said he appreciated many years of sustainable investment and trust of STEC to Singaporean market. As one of the global financial centers, Singapore encourages enterprises to make investment and financing in the country and welcomes STEC to further expand its business there. The Singaporean government is strengthening data management and doing research into and making exploration of the ways of applying big data to construction management. This coincides with the idea of STEC. He hopes STEC will work with the enterprises of Singapore in a joint effort to help with the country’s urban construction and explore the third country’s markets, so as to support Singapore in its building a financial center. Meanwhile, he hopes to increase exchanges and dialogues with STEC and establish a mechanism for deepening communication, to assist us to give into full play our advantages, so that more services may be provided for Singapore’s urban construction and greater benefits may be obtained from the country’s market.
