STEC obtains certification and approval from Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission: the first municipal research center for construction information engineering technology established!

Recently, STEC Shanghai Underground Space Architectural Design & Research Institute has obtained certification and approval from Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and officially made preparation for building Shanghai Research Center for Construction Information Engineering Technology. The research center will closely integrate the new generation of information technologies like BIM, cloud computation and big data with project construction and operation, apply them to these fields, and build intelligent city management-oriented information management and control platform for the entire life cycle that includes project design, construction, operation and maintenance, so as to improve the level of smart city project management on the whole.

In the future, Shanghai Research Center for Construction Information Engineering Technology will devote itself to the research and development of 6 key technologies, namely, BIM+GIS close integration, BIM parameter auto modeling, integrated sharing of life cycle data assets, digital intelligent management and control, cloud service-based mobile terminal information management, intelligent sensing kit and technology. During the two years of preparation, the research center to be built by STEC will produce project construction and operation information series platform products, push forward the effective collection and integration as well as safe utilization of data on project construction and operation, promote data interlink and sharing, and provide technological support for safe construction, sound operation, effective regulation and public service of major projects. It will improve the level of construction information industry of Shanghai, even of China, as a platform of cutting-edge technology exchange at home and abroad.
