First station complex undertaken by STEC--Hangzhou South Railway Station put into trial operation

2017-09-27

September 27 witnessed the first operation drill after the completion of the main works of the East and West Plazas PPP project——the comprehensive traffic hub of Hangzhou South Railway Station. There were hundreds of station traffic guides, firefighters, security personnel and guards as well as taxis and buses at present, simulating the occasion where South Railway Station is filled with a large number of passengers. The first railway hub complex developed by STEC, which integrates railway, rail transit and mass transit, will be open to operation as early as the end of October 2017 and act as the “heart hub” of Xiaoshan New Area of Hangzhou.

Hangzhou South Railway Station, the first “station complex” constructed by STEC, provides one-stop services including investment, construction and business operation. As the most important traffic hub in southern Hangzhou, it connects 6 railways and 3 rail transits. Upon its completion, it will become the “transfusion center” for economic development of Xiaoshan New Area. Traveling between Xiaoshan New City and downtown Hangzhou will need only 30 minutes and citizens may go to see Qiantang River tides by high-speed rail.

In terms of traffic, Hangzhou South Railway Station, with a total construction area of 222,000 square meters, boasts two squares——East Plaza and West Plaza, and integrates high-speed rail, common rail, metro, mass transit and long distance transportation. East Plaza, with a large area, is newly built; and West Plaza is formed by expanding the old railway station. Passengers from downtown Hangzhou may reach Hangzhou South Railway Station by such means like taking taxis, metro, buses or by self-drive. The intelligent parking management system and intelligent city guide system adopted by STEC will help you in many ways.

In terms of passenger service, after Hangzhou South Railway Station is put into operation, it will provide passengers with all-around one-stop services involving “food, accommodation, travel and entertainment.”
