Zhuhai Xingye Express Line, the Municipal Transportation Road Project with the Largest Single Investment Volume in Zhuhai City Invested and Constructed by STEC , was started!

On December 28, 2017, the construction of Xingye Express Line, Zhuhai's largest municipal transportation road project with a single investment volume of 6.4 billion yuan, was officially started by a consortium formed by STEC, Zhuhai Gree Group,STEC Shanghai Urban Construction Municipal Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. and Jian'an Group. Guo Yuanqiang, the Municipal Party Committee Secretary of CPC and Director of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee of Zhuhai, Yao Yisheng, Deputy Municipal Party Committee Secretary of CPC and Mayor, Zhang Yisheng, Deputy Mayor, Wu Shi, General Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Zhang Yan, the Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of STEC , Zhou Lewei, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Zhuhai Gree Group, Zhang Fan, Chairman of STEC Shanghai Urban Construction Municipal Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. and Xu Feng, Chairman of Jian'an Group, attended the commencement ceremony.

As one of the "Nine Vertical and Five Horizontal Lines" in Zhuhai, Xingye Express Line is the most important way to connect the north and south of Zhuhai's main urban area with the Shenzhen - Zhongshan Channel and the Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macao bridge. It connects several "Super Projects" in south China with Zhuhai's new and old districts, which can be said to be leading the development and construction of large areas and the lifeline of the "Urban Revitalization".

Xingye Express Line (North Section ) is built by STEC , and STEC Shanghai Urban Construction Design & Research Institute is responsible for the design. The design and construction team that created "The Lute and Psaltery Are in Harmony" project in Zhuhai's Majizhou Traffic Tunnel will once again join hands to create the best local traffic project for Zhuhai.

The express line starts from Meihua East Road in Zhuhai in the south and connects Hagong Road and Gangwan Avenue in the north. The overall line is in the shape of " Y" with a total length of about 17km. As it involves several key nodes such as Meihua East Road, Valley Transition Section and Zhuhai Campus of Sun Yat - sen University, the surrounding control factors of each node are complicated. Therefore, the design and construction team of STEC not only determines the best design scheme from the aspects of traffic function, traffic safety, implementation difficulty and project cost, etc., so that it can not only meet the traffic function and regional travel demand, but also maximize the mutual consideration of implementation, economy, safety and landscape.

For example, from south to north across the entire Fenghuang Mountain, the mountain tunnel is about 12.2km long, accounting for about 90 % of the total project. The extra-long tunnel not only greatly increases the construction difficulty and engineering quantity, but also has a negative impact on the comfort and safety of driving after the tunnel is completed, and brings obstacles to disaster prevention and rescue in the tunnel.

For this reason, in the design of the tunnel section, STEC Shanghai Urban Construction Design & Research Institute cut the long-distance tunnel into "Three Sections" by optimizing the horizontal and vertical alignment, making the tunnel "Outcrop" at Meihua East Road, Valley Transition Section and Jishan Village respectively.

The "Three Section" tunnel construction scheme not only avoids the driver's fatigue caused by the long driving distance in the tunnel, effectively improves the comfort and safety of driving, but also reduces the operation cost after the tunnel is completed, and maximizes the economy, safety and function of the project on the premise of ensuring the traffic function.

Under the Xingye Express Line ( North Section ) cross Meihua East Road, an important main road in Zhuhai, along which Zhuhai Trams are in operation. In order to reduce the impact on traffic during the construction period, STEC, which has created many "No.1" tunnels in the technical field of pipe jacking construction in Shanghai and Zhengzhou, will take out "Unique Technique" again in Zhuhai and adopt the rectangular pipe jacking construction with 10.8× 7.5m large cross section to pass through sewage pipelines and Tram Lines at close range to ensure the safety of all important urban infrastructure in the construction process. In the face of super-long mountain tunnels, STEC will use mining technology to ensure the efficient and orderly progress of the project.

From the overall design of Zhuhai's first modern tram to the Overall Planning for the Construction of Zhuhai's Smart City; from opening the largest shield tunnel in South China, Zhuhai Majizhou Traffic Tunnel, to the Zhuhai Hengqin Changwan Tunnel, which was built as a Demonstration Project in Guangdong, STEC have forged the deepest feelings with Zhuhai in just over six years.
